The Question of the Future

What do you want to be when you grow up?      Cliché  as it is, this is the question asked in pretty much every stage of your youth, and commonly even through a majority of your earlier adulthood. Not only does it provide a sort of pressure that you should know the answer, but it also provides pressure because the answer is such a significant element of shaping your life as well as your success.       I was not the sort of kid to have an automatic answer or some big dream I was chasing, like being a ballerina or a celebrity. My answer has always been a mystery, even for mini me. Even with the question of, "what are you planning on majoring in when you go to college," I decided on a major early just so I would not have to deal with the questions that follow the answer, "I'm not sure."      Now that I have lived a little more and have some more life experience, and almost a year of college under my belt, I do now have a little idea of what I want to be. 10 Tips to Being Professional Online (From the eyes of a college student) Keeping a good reputation on an online space can be difficult to manage at times, but it is crucial to your success in the real world. Being professional on social medias is often not the top priority for those under the age of 20; but every post and comment remains a part of your digital footprint and can follow you into adulthood and during job hunts, often coming back to haunt you.  A Semester Adventure My second semester as a freshman in college has been flying by and I have to say I am grateful for that! With water polo practices and tournaments taking up so much time, it was barely noticeable that I haven't been able to go home on breaks or weekends to see my family! This experience has certainly been an adjustment, but I am very grateful for the friends I have made so far that are so supportive and caring.  Even with not being able to go home due to training on campus, I have been able to have bounds of fun while here in little Emmitsburg, Maryland.  From nights watching beautiful pink sunsets, to morning treks to the pool, my friends and I have made the most of being here all semester. One of my favorite memories we have made so far was our Boston  trip. Traveling 7 hours on a bus to Harvard University to play water polo games was certainly a core experience. Every night we were in Boston we were allowed to go out into different town squares and shopping

Reflection

Reflecting on Semester One Throughout my first semester as a college student, I have learned many new and valuable lesson. One of the unique elements of furthering your education in college is that you are able to choose classes and topics that truly interest you rather than simply taking required classes like in high school. My social media course this semester was one I was extremely excited to enroll in due to its direct relation to my own personal life. I have not been disappointed so far.  A key idea I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about in this social media course was impression management. This was a concept I believe that many people understand but just may not know the name for it. It is a known concept that you present yourself on social media however you want people to view you. Your social medias determine your online reputation and this often reflects your true reputation and identity in reality. However, through class discussions, I have been able to dive deeper into b
